Who I Am
I'm S.M. Mehedi Hasan, an emerging academic researcher and educator from Rajshahi, Bangladesh. My journey began with a deep curiosity about human behavior and decision-making, which led me to pursue business administration with a focus on marketing at the University of Rajshahi, where I maintained a 3.91/4.00 CGPA.
What defines me is not just my academic achievements, but my commitment to using knowledge as a tool for empowerment. From my perfect GPA in secondary education to my current research projects, I've consistently sought to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
What I Do
Currently, I serve as Research Secretary at Rajshahi University Education Club, where I mentor students and organize academic programs. My most rewarding experience was instructing a 10-day intensive statistics program, where I helped students transform their apprehension about data analysis into confidence.
I'm actively engaged in two significant research projects: analyzing consumer behavior in Bangladesh's fish market (with Dr. Shams M. Galib) and exploring financial literacy in rural areas (with Minhazur Rahman Rezvi). These projects reflect my dual passion for quantitative analysis and qualitative understanding of social issues.
Beyond academia, I led the "Shuvro Somaj" human rights initiative, documenting violations against the Kakonhat Santal community. This experience reinforced my belief that research should serve societal progress.
My Aspirations
I'm working toward becoming a professor who doesn't just teach, but inspires critical thinking and research curiosity. My goal is to establish a research center that focuses on consumer behavior and economic accessibility in developing nations.
I envision myself as an educator who makes complex concepts accessible, and as a researcher whose work informs policy decisions. The classroom and the research field are equally important to me - one informs the other, creating a continuous cycle of learning and application.
Every workshop I conduct, every paper I write, and every student I mentor is a step toward this vision of combining rigorous scholarship with tangible social impact.
Sincerely,

S.M. Mehedi Hasan
